Active Processors count

The Active Processors or CPU count reported by the Stanford Stats pages is the number of CPUIDs (UserID+MachineID) that have returned results. These are the active processor criteria, depending on which statistics pages are viewed.

  • Active CPUs are defined as those which have returned WUs within 50 days. (Individual user stats also show the processors active in the last 7 days.)
  • Active GPUs are defined as those which have returned WUs within 10 days (due to the shorter deadlines on GPU WUs).
  • Active PS3's are defined as those which have returned WUs within 5 days.

Re-installing the client will sometimes result in additional CPUs in the count.

And because computers with multiple processors or cores can run a client on each, each with it's own UserID+MachineID, one computer can appear as more than one active processor.

Also, with the recent addition of the SMP client, multiple processors in one computer may now appear in the stats as only one active processor.
