Can or Does FAH Shorten CPU Life?

Yes, like any mechanical device, the more it is used, the shorter its life. However, the expected life of a processor is many years longer than it is useful. Most processors will be considered obsolete before they are used up, even when running them at 100% all of the time.

And like any mechanical system that is well cared for, it will last much longer. Good cooling is important for a processor (and the rest of the components) when running full speed. And clean the dust out every few months. High temperatures are the worst enemy, not running at 100%.

The most problematic machines may be laptops because they are not typically designed for running with CPU loads at 100% 24x7.
